Swivel Joint Features

TECHNIKA make Swivel joints [Ball type design] are designed by considering application of it, as it is used in most critical application, where failure of the same is not permissible. it is not possible for maintenance of the same while in use.

We are pleased to mention few aspects of our design, which provides our Swivel joints better life:

1. Ball races of the swivel joints are hardened to 50 to 52 HRC. This increases the life of swivel joint, by reducing wear & tear of ball races.

2. Our swivel joints are having Two rows of balls on which male portion rotates, as shown in our drawing. Size of the balls are designed considering Load due to various factors.

3. Both the ball races are situated apart, which provides perfect axil alignment of the axis of rotation of the swivel joint. This is very essential as swivel joints are used in pair. Axis of rotation of both the swivel joints will have to be same, otherwise it will create problems in rotation as mentioned in the instruction for the installation of swivel joint. More over if ball races are situated apart, axis of rotation will remain same, even if their is little erosion of the ball races after its use for very long period.

4. Automatic lubrication system is made in the swivel joint. This provides flow of grease during each rotation to the ball races.Sufficient amount of grease is filled inside the swivel joint to last for very long period. This ensures that, ball races are always having lubrication.

5. All our swivel joints are tested for hydraulic pressure at 6 Kg/Sq.Cm. Swivel joints are used for floating roof tank drain line in submerged condition. It is also important that, they should not leak also when pressure is applied from Out side to inside. Infact this is very important, as while in use, product out side of the swivel joint ( Product inside the tank ) should not leak inside the swivel joint, which will eighter get drained or will go on the top of the roof. Please note that, this is one of the problem faced in practise.

• In order to avoid this, we are providing External Body pressure testing, under rotation. In this test external area of the swivel joint is pressurized at 4 kg / Sq.Cm. Then swivel joint is tested for leak under rotation in the inside surface.

• This are few aspects of design other than standard procedure. We now request you to share your experience & to suggest your guidance to improve upon our design further. If any further informations are required, we would be pleased to furnish the same.

• Please note that, our above mentioned details are obtained after lots of our effort & research. Hence we request you to keep it as a confidential information and should not be disclosed to any other vendor of your's.
